Massie Block is the head of the A-list group at Octavian Country Day School, the Pretty Committee. The group includes the Spanish beauty and beta, Alicia Rivera, the redhead with a famous talk-show host mother, Dylan Marvil, the on-scholarship athlete, Kristen Gregory, as well as the Ked-loving, bang-wearing transfer student, Claire Lyons (who doesn't join the Pretty Committee until the end of Revenge of the Wannabes). She is the alpha of the 7th grade. Massie lives in an extravagant estate with a swimming pool, multiple cabanas, a tennis court, and a guesthouse, in which Claire and her family reside, a spa, a state of the art gym and more. She lives in Westchester, New York and has a black pug named Bean. She also has a horse, Brownie, whom she received for her birthday when she was a young girl. Massie is an only child, so she tends to come off as spoiled. Her favorite color is purple because it is the official color of royalty. Her entire room is white, with little splashes of purple. Massie doesn't show it, but she has many insecurities, and Claire Lyons, Bean and Brownie are the only ones who knows them. Her parents are William and Kendra Block. William is a very successful businessman and Kendra is very good at doing nothing. Her parents are very lenient and rarely ever punish Massie. In Invasion of the Boy Snatchers, her mother, Kendra, accuses Claire for Massie's wrongdoing. Massie's appearance changes throughout the series. In the first book, Massie has a shoulder length bob. She gets caramel-colored highlights in Best Friends for Never, and crimps her hair in Invasion of the Boy Snatchers. It is said in the ninth book's excerpt she has a purple streak in her hair for mysterious reasons. In the 8th book sealed with a diss she is said to have pilate toned abs. She has flickering amber eyes, and it is said in the first and eighth book she has A-cups. She only wears designer clothes like Marc Jacobs, Ella Moss, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton and refuses to wear anything that the Pretty Committee believes to be less than an 8.5. Massie Block likes brooches (up until book five), Uggs, cashmere, her special Tiffany & Co. charm bracelet, lip gloss and diamonds. Massie hates Old Navy, Keds, The Limited, Burberry, and, as said in the second book, Abercrombie and Fitch. She even started a game where you punch someone anytime you spot anything Burberry. This was later followed by a game started by Claire in Revenge of the Wannabes, but with Uggs. Every year for Christmas, she receives a custom mannequin from her parents, claiming she can choose her outfits without messing up her hair, there is also a mannequin for Bean, her pug. She also gets a spray tan, but forgets to rub it in, so she has brown spots.

Massie's entertainment can range from making fun of LBRs (Losers Beyond Repair) to pouring soup on someone's head (preferably Claire Lyons), but deep down she has insecurities and feelings just like any other person. We mainly see her insecurities in The Pretty Committee Strikes Back, when it is mentioned she is nervous about dating Derrick Harrington (who she secretly calls Derrington), the goalie for the boy's soccer team, who is not only cute but also very popular, mainly the alpha of his boy clique which consists of Cam Fisher, Josh Hotz, Kemp Hurley and later on in book 8, Griffin Hastings. Her main insecurities are: the PC splitting up, boys, awkward silences, and being alone.
Her feelings are shown occasionally, in other books, but one heartfelt moment to remember is in It's Not Easy Being Mean, when Massie says she'll miss Claire if she leaves Westchester. A negative side of Massie, which is only recognized by Claire, is that she is so materialistic. Everything she wears, like the rest of the Pretty Committee (excluding Claire) must be designer and expensive. Block never fails to make sure everyone knows that she's wearing a Prada messenger bag, Gucci sunglasses, or Marc Jacobs shoes, and always receives praise for her glamorous and showy designer clothing.
A few times in the series, Massie fears losing her power and status as alpha, like in Revenge of the Wannabes when Alicia tries to start her own clique and even convinces Massie's closest friends to join too. But whatever situation Block is in, she usually gets her way.

Massie always has the best comebacks, because she is clever and witty. It helps keep her on top, because she is scared of losing her power and control over everyone, especially when she is expelled from OCD. That, and going to a public school. She yearns to be loved by everyone, and she loves power and control. Her Comeback: Am I a vampire? No Then Why are you keeping me in the dark?

In The Clique, she has a crush on Layne Abeley's older brother, Chris Abeley, who is fifteen, and a freshman at Briarwood Academy. They meet at Galwaugh Farms while horseback riding. When she finds out Chris was dating a disgustingly beautiful girl, Fawn, she forgets about ever liking him. She decides not to act on a crush until she knows the guy likes her back for sure.
In Best Friends for Never, she has a crush on Cam Fisher, an A-list Briarwood soccer player, but eventually decides to let Claire have him because they both like each other. In Revenge of the Wannabes, Massie develops a crush on Derrick Harrington (otherwise known as Derrington) and it turns out he likes her too. But in Invasion of the Boy Snatchers, Alicia's cousin Nina Callas puts a phony "Spanish soccer spell" on Derrington, making him stay away from Massie so they can win a big soccer game. But in the end, he comes back to Block after recognizing Callas as a fraud.
In The Pretty Committee Strikes Back, Massie lies about her love life to the members of Massie's Underground Clinic for Kissing(MUCK), trying to prove that she has more experience in relationships and kissing than Nina Callas. But when Derrington finds out that she has all this experience, thinking she cheated on him with another guy because Massie and Derrington never kissed, he throws the "M" pin that Block gave him down in the dirt and rubs it in the mud. To get her boyfriend back and to prove to the MUCK girls she had experience, Massie planned to kiss Derrington in front of the girls with Claire's help. The plan works perfectly and Block tackles Derrington to the ground, sharing their first kiss.
In It's Not Easy Being Mean, Massie is desperately looking for the key to secuure her 8th grade popularity and looks in Derrington's room, since he kissed Skye Hamilton. But when she looks in his room she discovers Derrington is a total pig and wants nothing to do with him. Later in the book, Derrington is trying to show Massie pictures of something but Massie keeps rejecting him. Eventually, when she looks at the pictures, Massie discovers that Derrington cleaned his room for her, and they are back together again.
In Sealed With a Diss, Massie and the rest of TPC spy on the boys during a secret class (ESP) Massie finds out Derrington has a "issue" with Massie,so she becomes overly stessed about this. Which ends in disaster for Kristen (Massie's friend and one of the Pretty Comittee girls). At the end he tells Massie he thinks she's immature. He sees Massie at a party of Skye's with Chris Abeley, when she was actually trying to set Chris up with Skye in a deal. but Chris ends up falling for Massie and Massie then says that she knows why Juliet wanted to kill herself because Chris was Romeo. Derrington breaks up with Massie and the Pretty Committee decides to never date boys. Little do the know how hard that will be, because the Briarwood Academy boys will spend their next year at OCD after a tragic water main burst that ruined the school, because Layne and the Pretty Committee accidentally burst open a water pipe when trying to fix something for the 'room'.Massie will do anything to keep her Quenn Bee status and it shows when in the 8th book, when The Pretty Committee and Layne Abeley burst a water pipe. Massie is mean to others when she feels insecure and she dumps Derrington for Layne's older brother, Chris, in the 8th book but when Derrington is flirting with other girls, Massie wants him back but he won't give her the time of day
